Undue Influence and its Widespread Use • Open Minds Foundation

Note: My former pastors/elders at Grace Bible Fellowship of Silicon Valley use undue influence on church members, complete with threats in meetings that church members are ordered to, demands for “obedience” to a senior pastor (Cliff McManis) with FAKE degrees incluing a FAKE Ph.D. from a diploma mill, excommunications and shunnings of church members who used an iota of critical thinking skills, and outright lying. NeoCalvinist churches like GBFSV and other high-control groups/authoritarian groups are notorious for whipping their members into obedience via undue influence.

Undue Influence is widespread in today’s world, and our goal is to proof society against undue influence in all its forms.

This is What Enables Evil to Hide in Our Churches — A Cry For Justice blog by pastor/ex-cop Jeff Crippen

This post is difficult for me to write because I have lived it so many, many times. The subject gets my blood pressure, dander, ire and anger “up” big time. I hate this stuff. It is soooo prevalent in our churches and there is no excuse for it. This time, as is so common, it […]

The problem with excommunication – a response to Desiring God – by Rebecca Davis/Here’s The Joy blog

A couple of weeks ago someone forwarded to me a post from Desiring God that hit me like a punch in the stomach. “Slickly Presented Opinionated Dogma” at Grace Bible Fellowship of Silicon Valley. by a man reviewer on YELP

2/24/2017

“This church is pretty much as far right as is possible to find in the Bay Area. If you’re extremely conservative, and into biblical literalism (young earth, anti-evolution), reminders of the coming of the end, slickly presented opinionated dogma, Calvinism, and patriarchy, then this is a great place to explore and grow in that. Personally, it wasn’t for me, and I found it distasteful.”

Creationism and Jesus’ Blood – literally a problem. From Tim Fall’s blog

[From the archives.] I have no knock against six day creationists. I don’t ascribe to that doctrine myself but cannot see why I should say that others can’t hold to it as a way to read Genesis 1. I do, though, have a knock against someone who says that if you do not ascribe to a […]
