Gifted Women in Leadership Among Men and Boys — Istoria Ministries Blog by Wade Burleson

I will sometimes hear Christians say a woman cannot have leadership in the church or teach men in the church because the Apostle Paul said, “I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet” (I Timothy 2:12).These Christians fail to understand that Paul’s instruction to Timothy…

Beth Moore’s Letter Draws Fire From a Man Writing Without Substance. – on Tim Fall’s blog

Jesus said that those who abide in him will bear good fruit. (John 15.) I sometimes consider that when I see how two people address the same point. It came up the other day with Beth Moore and Seth Dunn. Beth Moore wrote an open letter to men in her circles about how some of […]

A Letter to My Brothers – from Beth Moore’s blog

Dear Brothers in Christ, A few years ago I told my friend, Ed Stetzer, that, whenever he hears the news that I’m on my deathbed, he’s to elbow his way through my family members to interview me about what it’s been like to be a female leader in the conservative Evangelical world. He responded, “Why …

The Dirty Little Secret About Church Membership Covenants – reblogged from Thou Art The Man blog

Today I will once again highlight what, in my opinion, is abuse of church members by heavy-handed authoritarian members of the professional clergy class. Specifically, I am referring to a segment of the professional clergy who consider themselves to be evangelicals and endorse, support and spread the 9 Marks “gospel.” 9Marx is apparently a highly…

53: An Overcommitment to Biblical Inerrancy? (with Ray Gilford) Part 2 – The Preacher’s Forum — The Preacher’s Forum (reblogged)

Tweet In this final episode of MindShift for 2017, Ray Gilford and I finish our discussion we began last week on the subject of biblical inerrancy–the fundamentalist belief that “the Bible is 100% error-free”–inerrant. In Part 2, Ray opens up about his own personal journey away from church. The idea of biblical absolutism–the teaching that…

Deconstructing Biblical Inerrancy – reblogged from The Preacher’s Forum

“So, for example, the first and original epistle Paul wrote to the church in Corinth would be illustrative of an original autograph, or first manuscript. However, for conservative scholars who affirm this teaching, there are several problems, chief of which is this: we do not possess a single original manuscript. How, then, are Christians to know for certain that their Bibles today—which are copies of copies of copies, and translations from dead languages to boot—are indeed both inspired and inerrant?”
