Church Discipline (Abuses). by Todd Wilhlem for The Wartburg Watch

“Too many of our present day evangelical churches are staffed with proud, pompous, narcissistic men who have been indoctrinated at institutions such as Southern Baptist Theological Seminary,” writes ‘rock-throwing peasant’ Todd Wilhelm.

119 Contradictions from Calvinists

Why Create This List? I’ve compiled this list of contradictions and double-speak from the experiences I have had with 5 point Calvinists to show the “doctrines of grace” do not rightly divide the Word of Truth which demonstrates Calvinists don’t have the sound mind God requires of someone who is approved of God (2  Timothy 2:15). I do concede that not everyone who claims this doctrine actually believes it in their hearts and I give grace in those situations.  I […]

Pedophile, Wife of Pedophile, Sex Abuse

Today I am posting a personal story from a woman named Cindy who left a comment yesterday on the 3-1/2-year-old article, Being Married to a Pedophile: A Wife Speaks Out and Offers Hope to Other Wives of Pedophiles, which has continued to reach women who are searching for support.

Her comment was posted at 4AM on the West Coast the day after Christmas. It got me wondering . . . maybe Cindy lives on the East Coast and was posting this in the quiet hours of 1AM after a pleasant Christmas day (the story ends on a positive note). What struck me was that she posted this around the time where families are gathered for the holidays. Perhaps she, too, was reminiscing of Christmases past, of what it was like when their family appeared to be whole and happy. But obviously she also thought about the…

Cruel to Be Kind — My Fight Song blog

I’ve been trying to figure out how the majority of the branches of the Christian religion became so misogynistic. How did we go from Christ giving women equal footing to women being forced to be doormats for abusive parents and husbands? How did we go from a God who displayed His love for all people […]

Protecting My Child from a Sexual Predator

Stacy's avatarREVISIONS OF GRANDEUR

It took five years of time and space before I resolved to write about our experiences with a now-convicted sex offender.

If ever I’ve hoped my friends would read and share a post, it’s now. It’s that important to me — and dare I suggest it should be that important to you, too?

If you leave a comment (and I always hope you will) please do so with compassion.

Thanks for visiting me here.
