Changing My Mind on Women in Ministry, Part 1 – Missio Alliance
It’s Not Easy to Change When those of us on the Missio Alliance writing team were given this month’s topic—Gender and the Kingdom of God—I knew that it would be a difficult topic for me to write about. Truth be told, it has been an extremely difficult topic for me to write about. Yes, I’m … Continued

Silencing Women – the guaranteed way for men to stay in control

Silencing Women in the Name of Religion
Last month patriarchal pastor Tim Bayly called out two women for supposedly overstepping their role, for doing “men’s work” instead of staying in their place.
When women such as Dr. Valerie Hobbs and Ms. Rachel Miller publicly admonish and rebuke [John Piper and Douglas Wilson], particularly men who are ordained officers of Christ’s Church, it would be hard to imagine any clearer rebellion against their sex.*
He then points to 1 Timothy 2:12-15 for the proposition that no woman should teach any man ever. Only men can do that.
If Pastors John Piper and Doug Wilson have betrayed the Word of God in their teaching on sexuality, they both are surrounded by pastors and elders whose duty it is to watch over their teaching and correct them when they are in error. This is not women’s work.
So says the Word of God.
Unbelievably, Mr. Bayly…

The Ungodly Doctrine of Servant Leadership
Tim's Blog - Just One Train Wreck After Another
[From the archives.]
Servant leader? Where’s that in the Bible?
The Bible talks of servant servants – that is, servants who serve other servants.
They came to Capernaum. When he was in the house, he asked them, “What were you arguing about on the road?” But they kept quiet because on the way they had argued about who was the greatest.
Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, “Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.” (Mark 9:33-35.)
When I read or hear someone speak of servant-leadership it usually comes across more as an emphasis on the fact the person is the leader, and less of a description of a humble servant. Jesus’ teaching in Mark 9 focuses on the latter while his disciples were arguing about the former.

Sexual Abuse in The Christian Church
GRACE director answers the question:
How Safe Is Your Church?
“If the church can actually begin leading on this issue and the world look at the church and say ‘Wow thats an example we want to follow’ I think we would see some amazing results in the lives of precious souls.” A MUST watch.

9Marx Shuts Down Comments by Todd Wilhelm
[Note: The first article that Todd Wilhelm/Thou Art The Man blog wrote was in response to Jonathan D. Leeman’s article at 9 Marks about my 1-star review on Amazon of Mark Dever’s 9 Marks book and the horrible abuses, excommunications and shunnings – akin to the Salem Witch Trials that I saw practiced by the pastors/elders at my former church Grace Bible Fellowship of Silicon Valley. 9 Marks censored and deleted all comments from the article from other people, very good critiques of 9 Marks. Now 9 Marks has censored another article and deleted comments. So much for ‘adult discussions’ about serious topics. When the going gets tough, Mark Dever and Jonathan D. Leeman turn tail and run. – Velour/MtnShepherdess, Moderator/blogger]

Yesterday I wrote an article titled “Jonathan Leeman: Parsing Words and Deleting Comments.” The subject of the article was the removal of all comments on an article published on the 9Marks website and Leeman’s lame and dishonest reasons given for doing so. The article, written by Jonathan Leeman, Editorial Director of 9Marks, is titled “Don’t Be a 9Marxist!”
Yesterday I was alerted to the fact that Leeman also removed all comments from another article on the 9Marks blog titled “The Abuse of Authority in Prosperity Gospel Churches.”
The article, written by D.A. Horton, began by stating the following”
