There is no questions that the SBC is in decline. I do not think they know what the problems are.
Imagine one of your theology students saying – “Dr. Olson, I am sorry to tell you this, but you are not a Christian.”
“The Bible doesn’t teach masculine and feminine traits.” – Tim Fall
From The Wartburg Watch blog discussion on October 11, 2016:
If anyone takes the time to actually re-state each Danvers point and look up their supposed proof texts, it is evident that there is no textual or logical there there.
R.K.Wright has done just that. It can be read here:
What if those who would become known as ‘Young, Restless, and Reformed’ had followed the teachings of Roger Nicole, instead of Wayne Grudem and John Piper?
Crossway Reverses Decision to Make ESV Bible Text PermanentAmid much public debate, publisher says strategy for a ‘stable’ Bible was a ‘mistake.’
The publisher of the English Standard Version (ESV) of the Bible has reversed its controversial decision to finalize the text after tweaking 29 verses.
“We have become convinced that this decision was a mistake,” stated Crossway president and CEO Lane Dennis in an announcement released today. “We apologize for this and for any concern this has caused for readers of the ESV, and we want to explain what we now believe to be the way forward. Our desire, above all, is to do what is right before the Lord.”
“Good for the ESV,” tweeted Scot McKnight, who had criticized the decision to make the text permanent.

Wayne Grudem recently gave an interview (my thanks to Joan for linking to it) in which he argues that women should not lead men, that men are the spiritual leaders over women, and that all of this has been God’s plan since the dawn of creation.

As I explain in detail on pages 30-42 of Evangelical Feminism and Biblical Truth, I think that at least the following 10 reasons indicate that there was male leadership in marriage before there was sin in the world:
(1) Adam was created first, then Eve (Genesis 2:7, 18-23).
(2) Adam, not Eve, at [sic] a special role in representing the human race (see 1 Corinthians 15:22; also Romans 5:12-21).
(3) Adam named Eve (Genesis 2: 23).
(4) God named the human race “Man,” not “Woman” (Genesis 5:1-2).
